In times of upheaval and uncertainty, where does hope live? This sermon explores "emergent hope" - not hope as empty optimism or escape, but as the patient tending of deep relationships at the scale we can touch. Drawing from adrienne maree brown's Emergent Strategy and other ecological wisdom traditions, we'll imagine each of our small communities of care as campfires in the dark. What might it look like if we begin building pathways between these campfires, so stories, songs, and practices can travel between them, and nurture all along the way?
