Worship service: “When the Flash Flood Comes: An Invitation Into Unknowing” (on zoom and in-person at South Nassau Unitarian Universalist Congregation)
On the morning of Wednesday, August 26, 2026, a wall of water, with churning debris, came down a Himalayan valley with no warning and no clear reason, causing a disaster of unimaginable proportions. My mind, in the way it does, went looking for a reason — something or someone to blame, to hold responsible. To find purchase in the slick mud of unknowing. It continues to try, and fail. This morning, an invitation to join me in the practice of staying with the immensity that will not neatly resolve into “meaning.”
